Biography of Diego LLisebir PDF Print E-mail

Diego LLisebir was born in Barcelona, Spain on the 30th of March 1970 and moved to Australia in 1982, where he has made his home ever since. Diego started composing music in 1983 when he was 13 and has composed a large body of musical works and songs in various styles since then.

Diego lives in Sydney.

In 1990 Diego set up his first home recording studio and started to develop his simple vocal and keyboard compositions into more elaborate musical arrangements.

In 1995 Diego started performing live and recording his songs in professional studios. He obtained a Diploma of Contemporary Music in 1998 from the Western Sydney Institute. Also in that year he formed his first band 'Hot Dip' which rehearsed weekly and performed sporadically, for the next four years, mostly in the Latin dance genre. Diego was the lead singer and main songwriter of this band and through it he developed and improved his performance style and song writing skills.

In May 1999 Diego started his independent label Ingenious Music when it became clear that the different genres of his music and songs would be best divided and released as separate projects and with different performers. During that year he recorded twelve original songs using ten session musicians. In 2000 he recorded the basic tracks to another fifteen songs. The instrumentation and styles of these recording were very varied from one to the next and they were spread among six different band projects in progress.

In 2002 he dissolved 'Hot Dip' and moved to Melbourne for a year, where he purchased and set up his new and much improved  home studio. Diego then invited the excellent pianist John Martin to Melbourne for three days and recorded most of the solo piano album 'Home' with him. Diego later named the project 'Visions in Sound' and  completed the recording and artwork for the album back in Sydney, releasing it in June 2005 as a limited edition which sold out shortly after.

Following the very encouraging responses to these compositions from the public, he concentrated on the 'Visions in Sound' project and has composed and recorded  another four albums, taking the total number of individual solo piano pieces to seventy-five, again using pianist John Martin.

Currently Diego is putting the final touches on Visions in Sound 2 'Horizon', as well as completing writing and recording the songs for a Latin dance album and an acoustic ballads album, all to be released internationally by the end of 2007.
